OEM Stainless steel leaf spring fits any
Hubertus 14 CM model or similar design same size flip-lock type auto.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Use extreme caution when replacing a spring on this
type of knife.
It is recommended that you use several layers of tape on the blade
to protect against injury and clamp the handle into a padded vice (with
the knife in the open position) in addition to wearing heavy leather gloves.
Do not attempt this procedure without using several layers of tape on
the knife blade and knife blade's edge for protection unless you are willing
to risk serious injury.
If there is a spring in the knife that is not broken bend it up and out
past the handle and pinch it with vice scrip type pliers. Tape on the
handle will protect the brass and bone or other handle material from nicks
and scratches. Then slowly peen the plier up and away in the direction
of the blade to work the spring out of the handle.
If the spring in the knife is broken a hardened steel probe can be driven
into the spring and then slowly peened towards the blade to work it out
of the handle.
To replace the spring in the handle after it has been removed insert it
to the slot in the bottom of the handle then push it down into the handle
and farther into the slot with a probe using the back of the blade tang
(blade in the fully opened position) for leverage.
